[Submit | Browse Entries]

The aim of this MiniLD is collaboration.

What

Make a game. Find as many ways to work together as you can. If you’re struggling, here are some suggestions:

  • work in a team;
  • use somebody else’s engine/assets/tools;
  • create an engine/assets/tools for others to use;
  • discuss the direction of your game with others;
  • playtest others’ games;
  • have somebody else choose your theme/suggest one for others;
  • share food and gamedev tales;
  • create a multiplayer game and let the players work together.

Looking for a team, engine or assets? Respond below, or leave your own comment describing: 1) what you can/want to do; 2) what you’re after; 3) how to contact you. You can also ask in the #ludumdare IRC channel on irc.afternet.org.

Want to advertise some of your creations? Leave a comment below detailing where people can find them, and any relevant documentation, etc.

Already have a team? Team up with someone else, include new people, or try some of the other suggestions.

When

Starts: June 26th. If you’re reading this post, it’s on: what are you waiting for?!
Ends: 00:00, July 28th, wherever you are, or longer if you need it.

Rules

If posting assets/code for others to use, please ensure the conditions of use are clear.

If you want to bend or break the rules, that’s also cool. Just have fun and *be nice*.

Theme suggestions (optional)

There’s no mandatory theme, but if you need some inspiration, choose one or more of the following:

  • sanity (or lack thereof);
  • chaos remixed;
  • The Sponge;
  • overseer;
  • underling;
  • SWARM;
  • denial.

EDITS:

  • Several people have said they’d be more inspired to create co-op multiplayer games rather than creating cooperatively. That still sits nicely with the theme as far as I’m concerned, so if making multiplayer games is your thing, go for it!
  • I’ve been asked a couple of times if the deadline can be extended, so people can finish their games. Of course! This is only a MiniLD so the rules are quite relaxed anyway, but I’ve changed the date above. Enjoy! :)

Looking for a team for LD39!

Posted by
8 days ago | July 15th, 2017 5:45 pm

Hey there, Ludum Darers!

I’m a software developer, willing to use Unity3D for the Ludum Dare 39.

This time, I’m willing to work in a team with complete strangers (leaving my comfort zone a.k.a working with my friends and trying to meet new friends here).

So, what crew I need for my ship? Argg!

  1. An artist that can make textures.
  2. Modeler to make models (although I can do that myself, I’d like to have someone more experienced than me)
  3. A sound composer is always good, right? For sound effects and soundtracks. But I actually can do that myself (well – partly. I can make piano, violin & guitar based soundtracks as I play those).
  4. Other programmers are also invited 😀

So let’s set sail towards LD39!

If you want to contact me, I’m available on Discord (@KingSolomon#8565), I can be reached by Email (yotam.salmon@gmail.com) or here in the comments!

Have a great jam!

My entry for LowPoly Daily with the theme: Coffee. Youtube process with fbx files (link included in the youtube video’s description).

I’ve been studying Unity shaders little by little. And in this entry I tried to use the one in the book im reading. Fortunately the result is somehow to what I expect but it seems that the cup is a little bit thicker.

The First Ever…

Hi there, Ludum Dare!

I would like to share the unboxing of the first ever Filipino-made video game, Anito: Defend a Land Enraged. It’s an adventure game with lots of RPG elements (plus an eat and sleep system). It won an award back then with its innovative audio design. Anito also sparked the whole video game industry in the Philippines. I’m sharing this because maybe we can get a few things from Anito and incorporate it with our own games.

I’ll also be putting up a gameplay video soon, so be sure to hit that subscribe button and stay tuned! 😀

Please do tell me what you think in the comments below, thank you LD Community! 😉

Che-che-check these out!

A keystroke logger program which resides on tray. The app is displayed when the tray icon is double clicked. The app features display of keystroke logs including time and date of each key pressed. it also has the simple analyzation tool, and the ability to email the file to others.

The theme is changeable and you can make one. It is under JavaFX’s CSS so it will be mostly familiar to all. All the themes must be saved under the “css” folder.

In need of a team

Posted by
13 days ago | July 10th, 2017 5:40 am

Hello everyone, I am simply looking for a small team to work on a new 2d game project for MiniLD #74. Programmers, Artists, or Musicians with any kind of experience are very welcome.

My main goal for the project is to make a 2d pixel game. I haven’t decided what it is about or what perspective it will use, but hopefully we can all agree.

It would be nice to have at least 4 people in the team, but I could make an exception for more if needed.

If you are interested just send me a message in Discord @Nicodend#1051 or email me at pgnico.user@gmail.com.

Legacy (?) userstyle for ldjam.com

15 days ago | July 8th, 2017 12:25 am

I am honestly quite fond of how good ol’ ludumdare.com looks, and I’ve thus spent the last few hours working on a stylesheet to sort of mimic that look on the new website.

Here are a few screenshots:

I’ve started doing this low-poly daily thingy (which I learned about at ludum dare).  I’m not sure if any of my so-far entries actually qualify as low-poly… but oh welll…

Doppelgunner (my) Fireworks for LowPoly Daily in Twitter

My entry for LowPoly Daily with the theme: Fireworks. Youtube process with fbx files (link included in the youtube video’s description).

I made the fireworks look like my logo. I found some quick tutorials in the net where I learned this keyed animation of particles. It turned out great and I am so proud of this.

My entry for LowPoly Daily with the theme: Magic Wand. Youtube process with fbx files (link included in the youtube video’s description).

Since the theme is about magic wands, Im trying to make the magic wand item in Dota 2. Not too close though but I think the structure is the same. I think I just need to add halo though but I got tired.

Lightning Strike for LowPoly Daily in Twitter

My entry for LowPoly Daily with the theme: Lightning. Youtube process with fbx files (link included in the youtube video’s description).

Unlike in my 10th entry in the powerplant (link: ). I used Blender’s particle system now instead of duplicating objects which made me a fool in the previous video. I found some nice tutorial in the net so I understand easily how it works.

Link to particle system tutorial I found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azXFwQWXjyQ&t=1601s
Helpful tip: If you want the source emitter to be hidden just uncheck the “emitter” in the “Render” part of the particle system tab.

Director’s Cut Board for LowPoly Daily in Twitter

Posted by (twitter: @doppelgunner)

My entry for LowPoly Daily with the theme: Movie Set. Youtube process with fbx files (link included in the youtube video’s description).

We can’t film the set without the director cut board. I tried to find a nice plastic material node setup in the internet. The one that I found out worked and it turned out great. I also tried to add texture by using the very own blender’s texture paint. Though digital painting is hard for me (since Im a programmer) I still did it and made it look like a real director cut board.
